One of my favorite authors is Jane Austen. I've read all her novels. Most recently I read her short story Lady Susan. It is written in epistolary form, unlike the other novels. This limits the amount of insight and the plot, but is amusing anyway. I also read the fragment, The Watsons. It is unfortunate that she didn't finish because the beginning was so promising, even though I could guess what was going to happen. There is nothing like the conversations and circumstances that Jane Austen writes. Now, I am reading Sanditon. It is the last fragment Austen wrote before she died.
The book which contains these stories has the above painting on its cover. It is by Rolinda Sharples. I thought this picture very interesting. The two ladies on the arms of the man with yellow gloves are flat and their faces are out of proportion while everyone else is fairly realistic.

I should probably read a Jane Austen novel. And you should probably update your blog more often. Anyway I hope you enjoy Sandition.
