Many years ago, my grandma showed me how to peel a banana the correct way-like a monkey. Despite what most people have been taught, do not peel a banana from the stem (this can bruise the 'nana). Instead, use the stem to hold the banana. Then pinch the opposite end and pull. Peel two or three more times. You may have to remove the seed (I always called it the bananas "belly-button"). Now, eat banana while using stem to hold it. Notice how easy it is to get the last bit.
Fun Facts about bananas:
The banana plant is the largest herbaceous flowering plant.
Leaves are spirally arrange and may grow 8.9 ft long and 2.0 ft wide.
Banana plant has been a source of fiber for high quality textiles.
Banana sap is extremely sticky and can be used as glue.
Banana hearts are used as a vegetable in South Asia
Bananas' flavor is due to isoamyl acetate (smells like Juicy Fruit according to Wikipedia)

I especially like how you can use the stem as a handle.
