As I was browsing Costco last Saturday, I was fortunate to come across the book 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City. Because I miss the great outdoors now I have to go to school again, I had to put the book to use right away.
Today's hike was the Living Room. The trailhead was right above Fort Douglas. When I arrived there this morning, I was a bit put down because there were already three cars there and two more drove up as I prepared to set off.

The trail splits off into several trails (I took a few scenic routes), and there were several people for the first little bit. Then, as the trail started I got away from the city, I was able to enjoy some solitude. Looking back, however, were some nice views of the city.
At the top of the trail, the pinnacle of the hike, are some lounge chairs made out of rock that overlook the valley.

I was almost to the top. Just one more corner and there...there were a bunch of people and their dogs sitting on the much anticipated rock-chairs. What a let down. I had to sit on a stupid little rock and listen to the others conversation.
Luckily, on the way back, I noticed a side trail that led to a little room with more rock-chairs.
