Pumpkin painting, Montana, Canada

Last week was fall break. I got to relax and do some really fun things. First, I went home and painted a pumpkin. Mom suggested I paint it this way. I was all up for doing a witch or something else. This was a challenge anyway.

Then on Wednesday, mom and I started our trek to Montana. We stayed the night at Butte, Montana that night. It just so happens to be a copper mining town. The next morning we headed up to Glacier National Park. The whole ride was beautiful-tons of trees and right along a lake. At Glacier, we stopped first at Lake McDonald.

Then we went on a hike that ended at the most breathtaking lake I've ever seen. It is several times prettier than the picture.

The next day, I was able to go to Canada for the first time. I was amazed at these windmills. After some reading, I learned there are 145 and they produce enough power for 30,000 homes. We visited the Waterton National Park (in Canada adjacent to Glacier). The Prince of Wales Hotel was a highlight. For your information, mom wants to stay there.

Lac Cameron (its French), also in Waterton.
Then we decided to make a trip to Cardston and see the first temple built outside the United States.
Then we went to Lethbridge, saw one of the rarest stones in the world-ammolite-and visited the longest and tallest trestle bridge.
The last day, we saw glaciers! We hiked up to Grinnell Glacier.

I hope I posted enough pictures for everyone. I'll post more later.
